One of the highlights of the Hadassah Foundation’s 25th anniversary event last month was the opportunity for participants to see excerpts from “October 7 Herstory,” an exhibit created by the Eden Association, one of our grant recipients. The exhibit combines filmed testimonies and art, highlighting the collective trauma of Israeli women following the massacre on October 7, 2023 and in the war that has followed. Eden CEO Ronit Shoval and Deputy CEO Gal Shiloah (in photo above) guided participants through the exhibit, sharing its background and explaining how the project created a safe healing space for women experiencing trauma.
We’re delighted to share that “October 7 HerPhoto,” a related exhibit under the auspices of the Eden Association, is now traveling all over the world. Curated by artist Alicia Shahaf, this exhibition tells the stories of 13 Israeli women profoundly affected by October 7 and its aftermath. Each portrait was created as part of a collaborative process between Alicia and the participants, offering the women a therapeutic experience and a meaningful step in processing their trauma. With Eden’s digital exhibition kit, organizations can host this moving exhibit, providing an opportunity to experience these stories and reflect on their significance. All proceeds from the exhibition directly support the Eden Association’s trauma treatment programs for girls and women. Learn more here about how to bring this exhibit to your community.
