First stop today was with Itach-Maaki, a feminist legal advocacy organization. They have been working hard to improve working conditions for teaching assistants, an overwhelmingly female profession. They also won a Supreme Court decision that permits welfare recipients to own a (used) car, so they can travel to and from work.
