This week, the Hadassah Foundation visited one of its American grantees, the Girls Lead program of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (Long Island.) This program, run out of the JCC of the Five Towns, develops the teens' personal leadership skills though the filter of philanthropy and volunteerism. They will learn about, and select, a local organization for a grant, and then provide hands-on service to the organization.
