Mark your calendar! Two U.S.-based Hadassah Foundation grant recipients are offering opportunities with fast-approaching deadlines for young women and teens.

Jewish Women International (JWI) has a few spots left for its Young Women’s Leadership Mission to Israel – and the application deadline is this Friday, March 7. A week-long immersive volunteer experience, the subsidized trip runs from May 4-12. In addition to meaningful volunteer work, participants will engage in high-level conversations with Israel’s leading women changemakers in fields such as tech, women’s rights and social activism. To participate, you must identify as a Jewish woman, be in your 20s or 30s and agree to participate in an Israel Engagement Project after the trip. Apply and get more information here. In addition, JWI is running a Women’s Empowerment-themed Birthright trip with Hillel from June 10-21 for women between the ages of 18-22. Learn more here.

Moving Traditions is fielding applications for several teen fellowships this spring:

jGirls+ Magazine, which was recently acquired by Moving Traditions, is accepting applications for staff editors and photographers through Monday, April 7. You can learn more about this opportunity for Jewish girls, young women, and nonbinary teens ages 13-19 here or at a virtual information session on Sunday, March 9.

On March 17, Moving Traditions will open applications for the Meyer-Gottesman Kol Koleinu Teen Feminist Fellowship. This program invites young Jewish women, trans teens, and non-binary teens to learn how to apply a Jewish feminist lens to the world, ask powerful questions, deepen their knowledge about social change, and amplify their voices to share their beliefs and express a call to action. Learn more here or at a virtual information session on March 27.

Also on March 17,  Moving Traditions will open applications for Kumi, a teen leadership experience that trains teens to pursue justice and equity from a Jewish lens. Learn more here or at the March 27 virtual information session.

Based in the U.S., JWI works to empower women and girls – of every race, culture, ability, gender identity, and sexual orientation – by ensuring and protecting their safety, building access to long-term economic security, and lifting and mentoring women leaders. In 2022 it was awarded a Visionary Partner grant, an unrestricted grant of $130,000 paid over five years are for mission-aligned organizations with strong track records as previous grantees.

Awarded a Visionary Partner grant in 2023, Moving Traditions, emboldens U.S. Jewish youth to thrive through the pursuit of personal wellbeing (shleimut), caring relationships (hesed), and a Jewish and feminist vision of equity and justice (tzedek). jGirls+ Magazine brings together an online community of self-identifying Jewish girls, young women, and nonbinary teens ages 13-19 across all backgrounds. Its programs enable teens to share their voices with the world and each other, provide space to hone their communication skills, and experiences to explore identities, talk across differences, and engage with a wide circle of peers on their own terms. It was awarded a Core grant in 2024; when jGirls+ merged with Moving Traditions earlier this year, its grant became a project-based grant to Moving Traditions.

Hadassah Foundation programs and grants elevate and empower women and girls in leadership roles, confront gender-based violence, increase female political representation — and much more. In 25 years of grantmaking, we have awarded almost $12 million to 113 organizations in Israel and the U.S. Learn about all current and past Hadassah Foundation grant recipients here.
