The Hadassah Foundation is able to fund only a fraction of the many needs in the field. Fortunately, a number of other foundations share our commitment to advancing gender equity in Israel and the U.S. Jewish community. Below is information shared by other funders that accept proposals from organizations working in this area. Jewish Women’s Foundation of New Jersey

Location:

Whippany, New Jersey

Where It Funds:

North-Central New Jersey and Israel

What It Funds:

Jewish and secular women's organizations in New Jersey, and organizations in Israel that address women's economic security, education/leadership development, health and well-being, legal discrimination, reproductive rights, gender-based violence, and LGBTQ rights.

Grant Sizes and Duration:

Grants of $5,000 or less, and grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000. All grants are for one year.

When to Apply:

Requests for letters of intent go out in January and September.

Application Process:

Jewish Women’s Foundation of Greater Pittsburgh

Location:

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Where It Funds:

Pittsburgh (for secular organizations) and throughout Pennsylvania (for Jewish organizations).

What It Funds:

Secular and Jewish organizations that positively impact the lives of self-identified women and girls through a social change lens. Applicants must be able to describe how their organization is working toward long-term outcomes of social change in one or more of the following areas: economic empowerment, education, health, legal rights, and/or personal safety.

Grant Sizes and Duration:

Grants for secular organizations are $10,000 or smaller and for Jewish organizations are $25,000 or smaller. All grants last one year.

When to Apply:

Requests for proposals usually go out in June
